Coolness Crew

In case anyone hasn’t noticed yet: Zara is kicking ass these days. Showcasing my favorite non-colorful color combo of black and navy and a juxtaposition of sexy slip dresses with bulky coats (honestly can’t think of a better example of ‘opposites attract’), they are nailing it. Want. Now.

Zara FWUm, can I please join your gang?

New in: Dream Boots

I got them! My dream boots! Just chunky enough, soft leather and perfect heel height. They are from Zara so I worry about the quality, since I know I will be wearing them a lot. Aren’t they divine though?Zara boots

Isabel Marant x H&M

So on November 14th fashion lovers on a budget all over the world will be able to get their hands on something designed by the one and only Isabel Marant. The photos of the collection were leaked (how unfortunate.. or is it?) and show some very typical Marant pieces. Gorgeous of course, but I can’t help feeling like this is very expected.

“I thought this was a good opportunity to say, ‘That belongs to me’,” designer Isabel Marant said to British Vogue about the collaboration. Instead of having fast fashion chains knock off her designs, Marant decided to partner with H&M so she could ensure her standards of design and quality were followed. Awkward, since H&M has knocked off her designs plenty of times. Remember the jeans with the print along the side of the leg? Yeah, H&M knocked those off and now they are selling them again but with Isabel Marant’s approval.

I don’t think I will be getting in line and fight other girls for this collection on November 14th, however the coats and knit wear are so beautiful, I might find myself refreshing H&M.com over and over to snatch one of the coveted pieces of this collaboration.

Wishful Thinking

If only I could win the lottery – in this case 2164 € would suffice – I could give into the craving I feel when I see these pieces. The perfect outfit for fall consists of marble print, navy and patent leather as well as thick soled boots and a baker cap.Wishful Thinking

Bik Bok x Olsen Twins

Olsen Twins

“Ashley and I are very proud to cooperate with Bik Bok. We feel that the collection reflects our personal style, while at the same connecting to the Scandinavian girl,” – Mary-Kate Olsen

Personally, I think the Olsens have proven to be remarkable designers, so I was thrilled to hear about their collaboration with swedish high street brand Bik Bok. The collection doesn’t blow me away, but it features some solid basics and essentials such as a biker jacket. Certainly things I would wear plus everything is fairly priced as well. Too bad Bik Bok still only delivers to Scandinavia. Here is part of the lookbook:

The Little Rubber Dress

It might be the aftermath of the BDSM trend in fashion, that we have been seeing a lot of latex and PVC as well as rubbery materials. I personally love the idea of making these materials wearable. But then, are they really wearable?

The most recent episode of the HBO show Girls showed the pretentious character Marni in a transparent rubber dress over a golden skirt and bustier. She tries to be someone she’s not and the dress just perfectly underlines this. It’s squeaky and it just looks awkward. Plus, wouldn’t you sweat in a rubber dress? And then it would get all sticky under there?

Marni

The little rubber dress didn’t work for Marni, but it sure did for Burberry Prorsum.

Designer Christopher Bailey really brought the kink to this show, which he balanced by having the models walk in kitten heels. The collection, called Trench Kisses, revisited the classic trench coat – although the sexy Latex and hardware elements added a more exhibitionist connotation, as if the purpose of the trench coat was to wear nothing underneath.
