For me COS is one of the best high street shops out there, they really offer a great quality and variety of materials with simplistic yet unusual cuts. It is just not my favorite shop because I frankly can’t seem to afford much there. But thankfully sales have hit the Collection Of Style stores. Here is a list of my favorite on-sale items (more sale here).
I’ll be so happy if I can get a hold of the silk T-shirt or the white leather top and I’ve had my eyes on these boots since January (on sale they are 130€, still a little too steep for me..).
I stumbled upon this series by Kesler Tran on the Ben Trovato blog. The soft focus makes these photographs look dreamy, reminiscent of David Hamilton’s famous work. But the colors are different, they are stronger, colder, not so romantic and therefor create a different kind of atmosphere. I also really like the model and styling in this series called “Escape”.
“I really wanted the story to give off a feeling of exploration, freedom, and being alone. [..] I always wanted to shoot something a little bit softer than my usual stuff, but not to appear “commercial” so the time of day I chose was more mid/ late afternoon, but not quite the golden hour” Kesler tells Ben Trovato.

In my list of current fashion favorites you can find a purse by Reed Krakoff who just recently won the CFDA award for best accessories, which he deserved.
I absolutely love the knot detail of the skirt, as seen in the new Theysken’s Theory resort collection.
As you can see I’m still very much into the whole idea of sporty chic as well as a sophisticated and fresh color palette.
So, I know there is nothing fashionable about football but that is what I’m going to be busy with tonight.
Germany vs. Portugal is always tough. I live in Germany but I always want Portugal to win, which usually doesn’t happen. I’m in Antwerp today so if Portugal loses at least there are no Germans around to mock me.
The guys at Proenza Schouler have delivered yet again. The resort ’13 collection is beautiful. A modest color scheme allows one to focus on the patterns and structures featured in these very pure pieces. The looks are super casual consisting of simplistic basics and no nonsense accessories and evoke this air of effortless chic that reminds me a lot of Columbine Smille – I can totally see her wearing the first look. I love everything about this look, from the shape and fabric of the coat to the gorgeous denim.
My favorites pieces from the collection are the white denim vest, the boxy coat and I find the heels to be very sexy. All in all a very wearable collection with versatile and timeless pieces.

In a little over a week, I will be back in Essen for a job at this year’s Modatex, a bridal fashion fair filled with some incredibly corny dresses. I did the same thing last year and after work I went to the local shopping mall which turned out to be surprisingly good. For some reason I don’t understand Monki decided to open their stores in only very few cities in Germany and one of them happens to be Essen. Anyway, so in anticipation of returning, I have made a list of my favorite Monki pieces. They have such great basics, which is what my wardrobe lacks the most, so I have to take advantage of my stay in Essen.
I am so into that simple oversized blazer and the platform sneakers..
Check out this very interesting interview with Marc Jacobs for Interview Magazine. I share his opinion on running and I have to get my hands on the book of the collaboration between Cindy Sherman and Jürgen Teller for Marc Jacobs.. http://vimeo.com/43171784
Here’s the iconic cover he did for Interview dressed up as Andy Warhol.
So we’re back to cold weather. Be careful what you wish for, that’s what they say. I wanted it to get colder so I could wear my new leather jacket from I Don’t Like Mondays more often so.. there.
I’m wearing it with an oversized shirt from Weekday and some bling from a market in India as well as a pendant from Fashionology.
One of my big weaknesses is for TV shows. I watch a lot of them. I recently made a discovery of something absolutely brilliant. It’s a relatively new HBO show called Girls. It is centered around four twenty-something girls living their lives in New York. They are in this in-between time of their lives, having finished college but not having found themselves just yet.
It will make you think of Sex and the City because of all the sex and women issues but these girls are younger, therefore way more disoriented and they are very real. I know people who are like them and I can see myself in every one of the four characters.
There’s Hannah, the quirky, insecure and very intelligent aspiring writer (the actress playing Hannah, Lena Dunham, is actually the creator of the show). Marni, a beautiful, egocentric girl who doesn’t like to lose control. Jessa, the british hipster with no inhibitions and absolutely clueless about her future – I guess she’d like to do something artistic. Shoshanna knows all about Sex and the City, but still hasn’t had sex. She describes herself like this: “a carrie at heart, but sometimes Samantha comes out and at school I try to put on my Miranda hat”.
Intelligent, realistic comedy. A must! Watch here.
