to the future

I used to try to imagine what people would wear in the future. I pictured long capes, huge shoulder pads, tall boots, visors and rubber leggings (I guess I thought the 80s would still be wearable in the future).

I found this editorial Dani by Chris Nicholls for Flare (January 2012) and I thought to myself: We must be in the future.

Sure my prediction was not very accurate. But here we have a dress covered in giant sequins that look like fish scales paired with a hairy necklace, an all-over metallic look with super chunky wedges, a checkered fake fur jacket and a sequined dress with silicone applications and finally glittery shoes with a crazy pattern leggings combined with a furry skirt and a python jacket.

Brilliant styling!

If this is the future, I’m in.

Weekday: “Waiting for something new”

The new line “Collection” from Weekday. I like how clean and simple it looks. My personal favorite is the white hairy sweater.

LEAF advice

Geri Hirsch from Because I’m Addicted and stylist Monica Rose teamed up to show us the many different ways to wear a white shirt. Definitely some good ideas there..

Bjørg Jewellery

Beautiful jewellery by norwegian designer Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen. Check out the promotional video by Matias Rygh and Mathias Eriksen and the 2012 lookbook. Dreamy and weird in a good way.

yeah buddy.. Zara TRF

Zara just keeps getting better. Another delicious lookbook presenting gorgeous evening wear. It’s from the TRF collection, meaning it’s super cheap yay! My favorite is the white blazer, definitely on the wish list.

watch.. and click: StyleMint

StyleMint is an online shopping platform, that was launched by MK and Ashley Olsen this summer. They have really awesome promotional videos you should check out, just like this little interactive video / style quiz starring the Olsen twins.

I’m the “runway girl”, you?

the new polka dot

I always found polka dots to be childish. unless you’re a little girl or a japanese lolita, just stay away from them.

Now polka dots have entered a new era of chic. In the form of giant sequins or messy prints and in a sophisticated context they will look mature but still with a little wink, since we do not take ourselves too seriously.

new in

There seems to be a clear color code in my latest acquisitions, it’s great since everything goes well together. I have no idea where this new mellow mood came from, but I feel great in light beige, khaki and mint tones. But what I lack in extravagant colors, I make up in patterns and structure, mixing velvet, metallics, glitter and shiny fabrics. That way I can wear a monochromatic outfit, without it looking homogenous or plain.

The metallic satchel was a gift for my birthday, my sister ordered in on asos, the velvet top is from 3suisses, scarf from weekday (sooo cozy) and the nail polish is from Kiko.
