The Perfect Length

I have a little obsession with the midi length. It is perfect for winter and looks gorgeous with heels. I’m wearing: Crop top from Cheap Monday, my mother’s old knit skirt, and wedges I borrowed from my friend, who shares my love for this exquisite length and joined me in this photo wearing her H&M dress and her signature creepers.

New in..

I was so pleased to discover this perfect dress for fall/winter at Miss Selfridge. The length is so nice with boots and the cut out in the back will allow this dress to make the transition to spring – and it photographs really well. This is for sure in my top 3 purchases this year..

Mini fashionistas

Just had to share this extremely cute video. Love the #minicoveteurs

Weekday, Rokin 84

Last night I was lucky enough to be able to go to the opening of the new Weekday store in Amsterdam – very good looking store with 3 floors, located on Rokin 84. It was a lot more spectacular than the opening in Cologne, mostly because of one week of give aways, an awesome after party at Trouw and a goody bag filled with loads of lovely things:

Here are a couple of snapshots taken from Instagram (@Weekday_Amsterdam) just to give you an idea of the event..

Show me your belly

Since almost all of my belonging are now in boxes, I have decided to take the rest of the night off to browse and read (I’ve fallen under the spell of Fifty Shades of Grey as well).

While browsing I found this picture that deserved to be mentioned on my blog. If you have the body and coolness to pull this look off, then please. Hanne Gaby Odiele sure does – I’m loving her in this tom boyish look. From the color palette to the cut of her boyfriend jeans, she is spot on with this outfit.

Takes some courage, but combined with a slouchy silhouette, a mute color palette and a cool attitude, I think it looks awesome. Do it, if you have the stomach for it..

Another good example of flashing some abdomens, without looking trashy:

new in: spiky sweater

Yesterday, I was in Amsterdam to organize some things before the big move at the end of this week. But when I discovered a small boutique on the Herengracht and spotted this fierce studded sweatshirt, I couldn’t resist.

High Street, High Fashion

The most impressive high street store for me so far this year has been Zara without a doubt. Zara has not failed to impress me with their very polished yet edgy looks and has consistently delivered great collections. The latest lookbook features some very interesting pieces that I must get my hands on, like the beaded blouse or the leather skirt. The mix of fabrics and textures is so well done, the styling is impeccable. Also, the level of sophistication is very high yet everything looks really comfortable. Go here to see more.

Sparkling at Stine Goya

What’s not to love about this amazing fashion show? Stine Goya S/S ’13 is such a fun collection. There is a lot of tone-in-tone as well as pattern-in-pattern going on and the slightly sheer, glittery fabrics are beautiful. The theme of the collection reminds me of Las Vegas and Casinos with all the glitz and glamour as well as the geometrical shapes – maybe a Poker theme?

Style Inspiration: The Ladies

Here are a couple of examples of what’s going on in my style inspiration folder.

1. I wonder who the ladies in this photograph are – they are the coolest clique I’ve ever seen. They’re like super heroes and they all have a specific super power. Running at the speed of light, flying, bringing the dead back to life and hypnosis. Please make them a cartoon!
2. I’m clearly not over the sporty look yet, especially in a sophisticated combination. And all white is SO good. Wonder if it gets to make the transition from summer to fall.
3. My love for transparent things continues as well, the voyeuristic part is very interesting, but normally the insides of a purse are not so glamorous.
4. Givenchy, is there really anything to add?
5. The bag. The metallic smudged denim. Sheer.
6. And here you can see my handbag crush: The Alexander Wang Diego. I found a similar one on Asos that’s on sale and I’m considering it, but with the move and starting school it’s not really a priority.. or is it?

Imagine Fashion

So I just discovered this really cool website called Imagine Fashion. They offer a different take on online shopping by displaying the current windows of shops such as Barneys, Selfridges, Colette and many more with a direct link from the displayed item to the online shop – in other words online window shopping. But for me the coolest thing about iF are the videos: They offer both very cool Fashion Films as well as interesting interviews with fashion’s most important figures. Check out my obvious favorite..
