Impressions from the Dillon concert

Last week I went to the Dillon concert. It was brilliant. She sang and played the keyboard while this tall guy worked two mac books and sound machines I know nothing about. Her voice reminds me of Lykke Li, soft and vulnerable. She’s from Brazil but calls Cologne her home, writing her own songs and playing the piano. Now her debut album “The Silence Kills” came out, featuring this Track:

Here are some impressions from the concert.

And this is what I was wearing by the way (thanks for the photo, Jo). American Apparel velvet leggings and boots from Zara.

#4

My new American Apparel Skirt in action. I combined it with a chunky knit sweater from 3suisses (find it here), Weekday coat, H&M circle scarf, BikBok headband, Zara purse and finally a necklace from fashionology.

I was really lucky at the American Apparel warehouse sale which took place in Cologne this weekend. Today was the last day and I went this morning hoping there was still something left – and there was. The place was ginormous! 2.000 square meters filled with cotton spandex jersey bodysuits, nylon tricot high-waist zipper leggings, unisex organic cotton tees and many more items with complicated names.

In anticipation of huge chaos (à la London 2010) AA hired an army of trained security staff to control the masses and prevent a riot – which never came. They chose a location that is quite far from the city centre so when I got there this morning I was pretty much alone with 10 other people shopping and the staff. This was just great, I was able to take my time and stroll around. The chiffon skirt was hanging in the wrong section so by a brilliant mistake I was able to acquire this beauty for 6 euros plus a pair of burgundy-colored velvet leggings that were 60% off. In the end I was given a 20% voucher, a smoothie and pop corn. Was worth the trip.

Instagram

I very recently downloaded the app instagram, a platform for people to share photos. You can upload your snapshots and apply different filters. Of course it’s no platform for professional photographers, since there are mostly pictures taken with an iPhone, but it’s a good source of inspiration and similar to twitter you can follow people (a picture says more than a hundred words, right?). If you own an apple device you should download the app, it’s free!

in that case..

I went a little crazy when I recently went to Frankfurt to visit my cousin. Passing by the Apple Store I decided to go inside and buy the new iPhone. Ha!

Now that I own this lovely piece of technology I need proper safety measures. What they offer at Gravis and such did not please me at all but tonight I stumbled upon the most wonderful website which offers beautiful cases in a massive variety.

I narrowed it down to 6. Help me choose it’s too hard!

There seems to be a clear color code in my latest acquisitions, it’s great since everything goes well together. I have no idea where this new mellow mood came from, but I feel great in light beige, khaki and mint tones. But what I lack in extravagant colors, I make up in patterns and structure, mixing velvet, metallics, glitter and shiny fabrics. That way I can wear a monochromatic outfit, without it looking homogenous or plain.

The metallic satchel was a gift for my birthday, my sister ordered in on asos, the velvet top is from 3suisses, scarf from weekday (sooo cozy) and the nail polish is from Kiko.

the other day I figured since one watch didn’t work, wearing two would be safer.
