Dreaming of Summer

I got my hopes up again. The weather has been teasing me the last couple of days and all I can do is think about the summer. Everyone is always telling me how great Amsterdam is when it’s warm and sunny and I can’t wait to experience it and wear all those crop tops I bought in anticipation.

Here is something I envision myself wearing this summer (in a perfect world). I must say I really love the result of the collaboration between Vans and Kenzo. thinking about summerImages via Weekday.com, Farfetch, Trendland, Shopbop

New in..

Thanks to the sunshine, for the first time in months I went shopping. While I do love my online shopping it was nice to finally go outside and actually enjoy it. I can not wait for spring!

Here’s what I got: A t-shirt with a mesh detail on the sleeves from Monki, a suede jacket that fits me perfectly from Episode and a mesh bra from Weekday. I can’t get enough of mesh these days..Monki T Episode jacket Weekday bra

For some seductive christmas present inspiration, check out Paula shot by James D. Kelly in her favorite lingerie from the Purple boutique. Such saucy photographs. I need that hot pink nighty!

Weekday, Rokin 84

Last night I was lucky enough to be able to go to the opening of the new Weekday store in Amsterdam – very good looking store with 3 floors, located on Rokin 84. It was a lot more spectacular than the opening in Cologne, mostly because of one week of give aways, an awesome after party at Trouw and a goody bag filled with loads of lovely things:

Here are a couple of snapshots taken from Instagram (@Weekday_Amsterdam) just to give you an idea of the event..

new in: spiky sweater

Yesterday, I was in Amsterdam to organize some things before the big move at the end of this week. But when I discovered a small boutique on the Herengracht and spotted this fierce studded sweatshirt, I couldn’t resist.

Tropicalia

This picture from Planet Blue‘s lookbook inspired me to compile a list of my favorite tropical summer clothes. It takes a good sense of humor and courage to wear Hawaiian prints, one of the must ridiculed prints of all times, which makes it fun. Also, what screams summer any louder than palm trees and the color of the ocean?

COS for less

For me COS is one of the best high street shops out there, they really offer a great quality and variety of materials with simplistic yet unusual cuts. It is just not my favorite shop because I frankly can’t seem to afford much there. But thankfully sales have hit the Collection Of Style stores. Here is a list of my favorite on-sale items (more sale here).
I’ll be so happy if I can get a hold of the silk T-shirt or the white leather top and I’ve had my eyes on these boots since January (on sale they are 130€, still a little too steep for me..).

new in

It’s finally here! The jacket I won from I Don’t Like Mondays a few weeks ago finally arrived.. at the customs office. I went there this morning and had to learn that there really is no such thing as a free lunch. Apparently, even a prize has its price. Still. I got an amazing leather jacket for 17,5% of its actual price, so I can’t really complaint. I’ll post a photo of me in it as soon as I can.

Another recent addition to my closet is this wonderful clutch from Muji. Technically, it’s a pencil case, but where is the fun in that? I’m in need of a new wallet, mine is slowly falling apart. Inside the purse: Glasses from ASOS, L’Oréal 4D Mascara, Vaseline, wallet from the flea market.

new in: ankle cuffs

I had almost lost hope of ever finding ankle cuffs and well, I didn’t find any. But thank god (and my mother) for my birdy legs, I’m able to wear these 2€ a piece H&M cuffs on my ankles. They make any pair of shoes look a little more special.

market

I just discovered ASOS market place and I really like it! Go on a treasure hunt and buy clothes from indie labels, multi-brand boutiques, vintage sellers or other ASOS users. Don’t expect flea market prices but definitely unique garments and accessories. I didn’t have to browse for very long to find great pieces and couldn’t resist when I found this amazing bracelet..

Here are some of my favorite finds on the market place:

Fringes and Flowers, 46€Studded Bracelet, 20€Chain handbag, 30€Denim shirt, 54€
