new reading material

There’s a new magazine on german news stands: Interview. The magazine was originally launched by Andy Warhol in 1969 and now there’s a german version. The first issue consisting of 270 pages filled with interviews with celebrities such as Scarlett Johansson, Chloe Sevigny and Lana del Rey, who also graces the cover..

I love final sale at Weekday. Found this awesome bodysuit there for 10€.

“the girls of the MTV generation”

Those, their school uniforms, techno and television were Jonny Johansson’s inspiration for the pre-fall Acne collection. Masculine coats, odd materials and drop-waists – I’m intrigued. I’m loving the rubber and plastic (transparent boots, how cool is that?), collars and crop tops. It’s very 90’s inspired obviously, but the lines are cleaner which gives the collection sophistication – I guess this is the girl of the MTV generation but grown-up, which doesn’t mean she’s any less daring.

look.. Teri Chung illustrations

I stumbled upon this wonderful Illustrator called Teri Chung. She studied at Parsons and lives and works in New York. She is brilliant. Makes me want to get my pencils and watercolors and make some fashion illustrations myself. Actually, I will do that as soon as my exams are over. Promise.

So anyway, you should check out Teri’s blog and website. Look how she nailed Freja and Daphne..

Balenciaga.

this little make up tutorial is so cute.

productive procrastination/DIY plans

I’m a procrastinator. Because I haven’t found a solution to that problem, I try to at least be more productive when I procrastinate. Instead of just blindly scrolling through my Facebook news feed, I try cleaning, baking (these for example) or drawing. I’m now planning on going to an arts and crafts supply store and a hardware store for a few DIY projects..

This collar is genius. It’s made with broken pieces of a CD and it looks really easy.

You can find many tutorials on these dip dyed shorts. definitely something I want to wear this summer.

I couldn’t believe it when I found these beautiful transparent cuffs on Love Aesthetics (brilliant blog, you should check it out) – They’re DIY! And this is what you need:

Apparently they’re not even that hard to make you basically heat up the perspex pieces in your oven and then bend them. They look amazing.

I’m going to have exams the next couple of weeks, I hope I don’t get a really bad case of procrastination, but if I do at least I’ll make something pretty.

Latest loves

Today I’d like to promote this really cool website called fashiolista. Basically, you get the “love-button” to love items you find online or on fashiolista to create your personal list. You don’t need to get an account, you can log in with your Facebook and you can follow other people and check out their style. Many well-known fashion bloggers such as Andy Torres from Style Scrapbook or  Chiara Ferragni from the Blonde Salad use it. I really enjoy using fashiolista to keep track of everything I like.

This is part of my list:

Mr. and Mrs. Handsome’s Wedding

With all their handsome friends. Sheila Marquez and Christian Brylle getting married in an Elle editorial with some very inspiring styling for summer. Easy and bright. Now I really feel like picnicking.

snapshot.. all over denim

Something I wore the other day. Excuse the poor quality of the photo (ugh and I’m no fan of mirror pics, but who is?), I felt as if I should post this look anyways, since I haven’t posted an outfit in a while.

Cheap monday jeans, Gina Tricot denim shirt, old belt I stole from my mom, necklace from somewhere in India, H&M cardigan, Weekday scarf, Weekday coat, shoes from Dinsko and my studded Zara tote, which is so pointy I hurt myself all the time, but I still love it, it’s like an abuse boyfriend.

Almost white

Beautiful and mysterious looking Daphne Groeneveld in pastels, whites and almost whites. Love to see the Givenchy shark tooth necklace in action. I applaude the styling on this editorial. The brights look sophisticated and she looks a little bit like a tough yet relaxed surfer lounging on that chair (like what Riccardo Tisci had in mind for the S/S 2012 collection of Givenchy), instead of looking sweet and dreamy, which is usually associated with soft hues.

look.. it’s Alexa

Cool! Alexa Chung (photo shot by Terry Richardson) is now the host of 24 Hour Catwalk, a new show on Lifetime. It’s like a one episode version of Project Runway (only with a way cooler host).. the title is pretty self-explanatory. You should check it out here or if you’re not a US resident like me, try sidereel.
