Picks of the Day

This is an outfit that’s currently on my wish list (‘wish’ being the operative word here). While that amazing Givenchy bag is more of a distant dream, the Diesel tee is in reach.. maybe I’ll give myself a late birthday present?picks of the week

Dreaming of Summer

I got my hopes up again. The weather has been teasing me the last couple of days and all I can do is think about the summer. Everyone is always telling me how great Amsterdam is when it’s warm and sunny and I can’t wait to experience it and wear all those crop tops I bought in anticipation.

Here is something I envision myself wearing this summer (in a perfect world). I must say I really love the result of the collaboration between Vans and Kenzo. thinking about summerImages via Weekday.com, Farfetch, Trendland, Shopbop

New in.. small obsession

I’ve been obsessing over this backpack since Weekday first opened on Rokin 84 and yesterday I decided to finally get it and I’m so thrilled about it. How cool is the holographic rainbow shine it has?

Weekday, Rokin 84

Last night I was lucky enough to be able to go to the opening of the new Weekday store in Amsterdam – very good looking store with 3 floors, located on Rokin 84. It was a lot more spectacular than the opening in Cologne, mostly because of one week of give aways, an awesome after party at Trouw and a goody bag filled with loads of lovely things:

Here are a couple of snapshots taken from Instagram (@Weekday_Amsterdam) just to give you an idea of the event..

Paisley Party

Another great item I bought during the summer sale are these trousers from Weekday. I’m so into that print and they are super comfortable. The best thing about them though is that they are extremely versatile. I’ll be able to wear them to the beach, for an everyday outfit, as lounge wear as well as wearing them out at night with heels – they go with everything. Hopefully I’ll be able to share a photo of me wearing them with my actual clothes. My collage is more like wishful thinking, since I don’t own an Alexander Wang nor a Reed Krakoff purse to accessorize my outfits with, but you get the idea that these trousers can totally make the transition from day to night.

So we’re back to cold weather. Be careful what you wish for, that’s what they say. I wanted it to get colder so I could wear my new leather jacket from I Don’t Like Mondays more often so.. there.
I’m wearing it with an oversized shirt from Weekday and some bling from a market in India as well as a pendant from Fashionology.

Weekday pre-launch

Today Weekday is launching their new MTWTFSSWEEKDAY collection. It features high quality items and the finest fabrics such as cashmere, silk and leather.

Last night was the pre-launch and I was able to take a look at this highly anticipated collection.

I loved almost every garment, one could really tell they were of great quality. Weekday presented a wonderful collection. As usual effortless in simplicity and a low-key color palette, but smarter than ever and definitely more chic. As I had expected, my favorite was the white sweater.

I left my wallet at home though, sparkling wine was being served and I know the risk of drinking and shopping.

Also, there was a band from Sweden called Navet. You can check out some of their tracks here.

Here are some pictures from the event..

Their singer Julia was so lovely.

Unfortunately the trio was not complete, because their guitarist was sick – get better soon!

Another item I found at the Weekday final sale was this turtleneck (6€). I’m wearing it with high waisted jeans and the chain as a little detail.

I love final sale at Weekday. Found this awesome bodysuit there for 10€.

longing for spring

One of my favorite spring collections was by Phillip Lim, I found the color palette to be absolutely gorgeous. The milkshake colors (many call them sorbet, which just isn’t the adequate term in my opinion) also appeared in several other collections, e.g. Acne, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry.

I love that lilac and mint are coming back and light blue goes with pretty much anything. Can’t wait to add a few soft hues to my closet.
