to the future

I used to try to imagine what people would wear in the future. I pictured long capes, huge shoulder pads, tall boots, visors and rubber leggings (I guess I thought the 80s would still be wearable in the future).

I found this editorial Dani by Chris Nicholls for Flare (January 2012) and I thought to myself: We must be in the future.

Sure my prediction was not very accurate. But here we have a dress covered in giant sequins that look like fish scales paired with a hairy necklace, an all-over metallic look with super chunky wedges, a checkered fake fur jacket and a sequined dress with silicone applications and finally glittery shoes with a crazy pattern leggings combined with a furry skirt and a python jacket.

Brilliant styling!

If this is the future, I’m in.

listen to.. Lana del Rey

I’ve never listened to anything like it and now I can’t stop.

Lana del Rey – Who is she?! For one totally gorgeous but I feel like she came out of nowhere. Apparently her EP got into the top 5 of the US iTunes album charts after only a couple of hours. You can download her EP “Video Games” on iTunes, there’s lots of other fantastic stuff on Youtube (like this one), go check it out.

Weekday: “Waiting for something new”

The new line “Collection” from Weekday. I like how clean and simple it looks. My personal favorite is the white hairy sweater.

LEAF advice

Geri Hirsch from Because I’m Addicted and stylist Monica Rose teamed up to show us the many different ways to wear a white shirt. Definitely some good ideas there..

#4

My new American Apparel Skirt in action. I combined it with a chunky knit sweater from 3suisses (find it here), Weekday coat, H&M circle scarf, BikBok headband, Zara purse and finally a necklace from fashionology.

Cool Yule

Kind of surprised to see it is december already! As a result of global warming or whatever we’ve had virtually no rain this november, so I’m not really prepared for it to be winter just yet. Although I’d love for us to skip the rainy part and just get to the snowing already.

Anyway. December first means people are opening the first door of their Adventskalendar, one of my favorite German traditions. It’s on. Another great german tradition is Weihnachtsmarkt. A market where you can buy all sorts of things from trimmings for the christmas tree and festive decoration to roasted almonds and waffles. These markets are a great tourist attraction so I welcomed the oppurtunity to visit a more alternative market which was held at a local club called Gloria.

Here are some pictures of the wonderful stuff they had:

How adorable are the wrist watches? I didn’t buy anything that day, but the items from the photos are available here:

Sunglasses and T-Shirt: Chu – Brüsseler Str. 48

Awesome jacket and collars: Trinkhallen-Schickeria – Trimbornstr. 7 and here.

Brooches, pins and necklaces: Nice Nice Nice – here.
